We need to stand up as a team to support grandmothers in the countries who play a big role of caring total orphans in the families after their sons and daughters dies and lives behind many children with the grandmothers.

If we do help grandmother, we shall automatically reduce street kids in urban areas in the world. Believe in me dear friends.

Vehicle Donation Program

At URICT, being situated in a rural area, transport has become a serious problem as we implement our activities, so it’s really our prayer to have a van or truck or a double cabin.

This vehicle will majorly help us in transporting our children to school because they travel far distances between 8-10kms which is very risky and tiresome.

It will also act as an ambulance for our children and rural pregnant mothers in case of any referral emergency because on many occasions we have lost many children and mothers due to lack of quick means of transport.

Helping Grandmothers

Spoon feeding will never be good to anyone’s life!! Let it be team work to teach needy/vulnerable people how to fish.

URICT Uganda in partnership with WorldGranny have started helping Grandmothers and their orphaned to starting fishing themselves through doing Income Generating Projects.

We give them free Goats , Pigs, vegetable and fruit tree Seeds, Birds, Garden tools and equipment for income generating and nutrition.

Partnership with WorldGranny

URICT- Uganda; Non Government Organization (NGO) with community based program. It was started with the overall objective of Care & Support Rape for Grannies who have full time parent roles of looking their orphaned, mitigation & Prevention of HIV/AIDS among the marginalized groups in Uganda while looking care of the HIV/AIDS through the prevision of psycho social and education support.

URICT Uganda – Help for Children of Uganda– in Partnership with WorldGranny Netherlands.

Started Economic empowerment through provision of agriculture incentives to grandmothers in rural/village areas of Uganda.

Grand mothers can be empowered to become active members within their households and communities so that their can provide basic needs to their orphaned.

Basing on our findings from Kamuli District it was discovered that in Uganda grandmothers have traditional skills and knowledge, which they can use to contribute to initiatives in their households and communities. Sometimes grandmothers, manage to produce a substantial harvest, which can be enough for home and commercial consumption. But such mothers always have low access to available markets and lack agriculture incentives to boost their produce.

In the photos grandmothers receiving agriculture equipment like hoes, pangs and help them access markets for their produce.

We gave out to many grandmothers and their orphaned free small lamp Solar lights even though many grandmothers don’t have houses to sleep in with their grand orphaned children.

Official Announcement of Trellis Fund Projects

We have been officially awarded grand for Horticulture – Fruit tree planting for income generating and nutrition.

URICT received a Trellis Fund grant to train farmers on pest and disease management for fruit crops. Karla Huerta, a graduate student studying Horticulture and Agronomy in the UC Davis Viticulture and Enology Department, will support the project and travel to Uganda to work with farmers.

Visitors from USA

URICT- Uganda last week received visitors from USA who came to visit URICT orphanage home, orphanage school, agriculture projects, community people and Youth groups making Bio Sand Waters Filters we give out to different families, churches, schools, trading centers in districts of Kamuli, Buyende, Kariro, Iganga , Bugiri and Jinja so that people get access to safe and clean Water.

Thank you so much David and everyone who stands with Friendly Water for the World.

Our community people now are in good health which resulting development, improvement in education, Saving among family members, energy to work because they stopped being sick daily of water borne diseases. Good health means strong health mind.

People used to drink, bath, washing, cooking, brushing with dirty water from unprotected wells sharing with animals from the same dirty water sources.

We highly appreciate for the support.

Food Busker Fund

Famine in Eastern Uganda

May the world know that families in Eastern Uganda, are dying of famine. Families have been reduced to eating insects and some are even eating their family dogs. I reported on this matter weeks ago but today I have witnessed one of the worst situation, a family of 6 members, which is about 9 miles away from URICT Center was caught eating a deadbody of an old man who was buried yesterday. I can affirm that this family isn't a born cannibal it's hunger which has reduced them to such levels. I have attended over 10 funerals of people who have died of starvation. May the world wake up to attend to this crisis. It's not only URICT making this appeal but I am speaking for millions out here.

We are creating the Food Busker Fund - inclusive is Maize flour/posh, rice & kidney beans. A busker cost $52 and can feed a family of 5 for a month.

May we find it in our hearts to save a life.
