10,000 Birth Kits to pregnant mothers

URICT- Uganda together with Emerge Poverty Free through our rural health program of Life Saving – Safe Motherhood and Maternal Health project. Thousands women, men and teenage mothers have been trained and TBAs have got special training/ qualified and are supported to give first health support to village pregnant women, mothers and their new babies. So far we have given out more than ten thousand Birth Kits (Mother Kits) to rural/villager pregnant mothers.

Menstrual Health Management (MHM)

The best place to make an impact on improving the lives of girls and women is in water and sanitation.

The lack or unaffordability of facilities and appropriate sanitary products push menstruating girls temporarily or sometimes permanently out of school, having a negative impact on their right to education.

The role of good Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) as a trigger for better, stronger development of women and girls: personal, educational and professional.

That’s why URICT- Uganda has started giving all rural/villager girls sanitary pads washable and usable for one year to enable them attend classes even during their monthly period days. Almost all villager girls don’t go to school during monthly period days that’s 7 days (1week) in every month. Sometime they use old pieces of cloths or papers at there end they get affections.

Our today’s question-: Is there any one knows donor org, companies, churches, groups, Association, Charities or Individuals, who is ready to join and support URICT- Uganda in Promoting Girl Child Education in Rural Areas of Uganda? Kindly connect us.

Training Safe Motherhood and Maternal Health

From 02/Jan-30/Feb-2015, URICT Uganda – Help for Children of Uganda together with Nurses, Midwives and Uganda police have been training Safe Motherhood and Maternal Health in the bush villages of Namasagali- Kamuli district far away from town around 52kms.

Rural Women and Children’s Health Program

We are very grateful for Kamuli District- Uganda’s Women and Babies health status. The death rate has reduced– mothers during labor time and new borne babies.

Big thanks goes to Emerge Poverty Free who have been and still putting alto of money in URICT- Uganda Rural Women and Children’s Health Program to be achieved in Uganda- Busoga Regional since 2014 update.

Many Traditional Birth Attendants in different villages has been trained. Safe Motherhood and Maternal health outreach Educational training and giving out thousands of Birth Kits (Mother Kits) to pregnant mothers and teenage Mothers.

Ministry of Health Kamuli supports our Safe Motherhood Program

The Ministry of Health Kamuli Office and the Office of the Mayor has recognized Emerge Poverty Free in the UK for their dedication to support Villagers in different villages of Kamuli to access quality Maternal Health services as they also learn about Safe Motherhood.

The Area Hon. Member of Parliament has promised to push so that the Ugandan Movement can duplicate this model countrywide and he has also promised to advocate so that the Government takes on this program and directly funds the program by 2018.

This was yesterday during the passing of 45 Traditional Birth Attendants who have been undergoing training. URICT has asked the officials to dig deep into their pockets so that they can equip the Traditional Birth Attendants.

URICT is equally impressed by the results and its visible to see the reduction maternal deaths and more babies and mothers surviving. Thanks so much EPF and all our friends who believe in this project.
